Dream

This project is title, "You are what you.." and I choose dream. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do for this project. Usually people think of "you are what you eat" or some other variation. One night I had a dream that I was flying and it is such a cool feeling. A lot of the time I wish I could fly in real life, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. So this dream inspired my illustration of a girl flying. I wanted to capture that feeling of freedom I get in my dreams, like no one can catch you and nothing is tying you down. I had fun playing with the colors and shapes and just getting the feeling of flying.

Bolero

Hello Everyone!

I have been working on Ballet posters for Utah's ballet west. I wasn't commissioned or anything, however I would like to show them what I have done an hopefully I can get some freelance work for them.

I had fun doing this poster. It was a difficult dance to research and the only version of the ballet I could find was a video cassette from the 1980s. I will say it is difficut to get the mood of the dance and attitude of the dancers in one shot. However, it was fun to research as well as create. Enjoy!

BFA Show

Hello Everyone!

I’m happy to say that I'm joining with 9 other great artists to do our final show that will be up April 4-21, 2011 in Gallery 303 in the HFAC. We’ve been working really hard on our BFA show! BFA update

I am excited to say I am well on my way to being finished with my BFA project (it will be going up in 2 weeks!). The story I am doing is about my cousin Makenna who is trying to figure out what she wants to be for Halloween and here are some of the options she imagines herself as. Next week you will see what she actually will be for Halloween!

Sleeping Beauty poster

I did this poster for Ballet West for a class project. I had a lot of fun doing it, especially the researching. I went to the library and borrowed 4 different version of the ballet. However I only watched two realizing that they are very similar, with the exception of the costumes. I am especially happy with this piece because it is the 1st time I have done a male figure in this style. I hope you all enjoy it!

My BFA project

So I am slowly working on my BFA project and I have gotten a color study from the children's book my uncle wrote. It's about my cousin Makenna who is trying to decide what she wants to be for Halloween. This is her dressed up as a lion as her father suggested. Enjoy!
